Triathlon coaching - one to one and groups

From a first timer to experienced racers..

Triathlon is the fastest growing mass-participation sport at the moment, and its no surprise as to why.

To be able to swim, bike and run your way around a course can be exhilarating and rewarding, and offer a challenge to athletes of all abiities. Not only you against the other athletes, Triathlon is you versus you, with any time improvements and PBs celebrated with glee. There are some fantastic races here in the north-east of England, with some great clubs organising the events. The scenery here makes for some fantastic open water swimming, bike rides that will test any level of athlete, and run courses against a backdrop of our amazing coastline.

My own Triathlon journey began in 2008, when I took on a client who had a friendly bet with some guys he worked with about who could finish first in a Sprint Tri at Eton Dorney lake. I trained with this client for 6 months, then he smashed his sprint tri and finished over 10 minutes ahead of the nearest athlete from his office. In doing all of this I was becoming more and more addicted myself to this relatively new sport, and fast forward 5 years and I have competed in many Sprints, Standards and last year a half-iron distance race. I am also now a qualified Level 2 Triathlon coach with insurance through British Triathlon.

Whether you are looking at competing in your first race and need guidance with that, or are a semi experienced triathlete looking to improve in components of your race, or an advanced racer needing someone taking a fresh look at your training - my Tri coaching service can help.

I offer training on a one to one basis, or small groups of up to 6 people, covering such areas as:

  • Making the move to front crawl, components of your swim stroke, drills to improve, mastering your body position and using exercise regimes such as Pilates on dry land to improve.
  • Cycling skills such as braking, gearing, setting your bike up effectively, turbo sessions to follow to improve speed and transition practice.
  • Run analysis, run drills, variable distance sessions and training plans to improve your times.
  • Rules and transition practice to ensure no race day hiccups.
  • Utilising tools such as Kettlebells to improve your performance and prevent injury.
  • Advice on kit and maximising technology to your benefit.

My sessions can be completely tailored so do get in touch with any questions you may have.

Sessions are at venues throughout the region, or can take place in the home depending on space and logistics.
